Finally, here is the toys & treats page! Yay! :-D
Hi!  I have a recipe for birdy bread!
Ingredients:
1 box Jiffy cornbread mix *Note:  cornbread, not muffin mix, muffin mix
has
too                                  much sugar in it and can be bad for birds!
3 small jars or 2 large jars of baby food-flavors can be whatever you
wish,
it                                         really doesn't matter.
1 cup mixed veggies,
1 cup broccoli,
1 cup oatmeal(the slow kind, not quick oats),
some fresh spinach-quantity depends on birds taste,
1/2 cuttlebone, scrape it to a fine powder and add it for calcium,
1/2 cup of egg shells(rinse to remove egg, boil to remove bacteria, and
allow egg                       shells to dry thoroughly before using),
1 cup of pellets-either whole, crushed or ground,
1 cup of walnuts,
1 cup cockatiel or budgie seed mix,
1 whole pepper-type depends on what you have,
______________________________________________-
Directions:
follow directions on box, leaving out the butter(at least I do, I have
heard it is too high in cholesterol for birds and can be bad for
them!).
Add all of the other ingredients, and mix well.  If too dry
looking/feeling, add some all natural juice, like apple or grape(use
your
imagination!).  Put in a well greased(I use canola oil, it is low in fat
and cholesterol) pan, size according to directions on jiffy
box(depending
on how many of the ingredients you used, you may need a bigger one.
Generally the pan should hold the mixture and have plenty of room at the
top to allow for rising of the bread.  Cook according to Jiffy box
directions, and allow to cool completely before serving to birds.  This
recipe freezes well, and can be stored in any type of freezer
container(I
use ziplock bags, but have used Tupperware type containers).  Hope your
birds and you enjoy this recipe!

good, like corn muffins with seeds included if they like that will try
sneaking in some pellets.  wouldn't that be a riot get pellets past
